An investment from OnePlanetCapital is about adding value to the companies we back. As entrepreneurs ourselves we try to add real practical value to the businesses we support whether we sit on the board or not.
Where we lead investment rounds, we always take a board seat with the investee company. We also always have board seats if we are meaningful shareholders on the cap table to ensure investors are protected as possible in terms of board representation.
Aside from advisory support from the fund directors we also have a strong network of fractional support in terms of accountants, finance directors and legal support that we often introduce into investee companies that are in the early stages of building their teams. Good governance in early-stage businesses is critical as well as compliance across SEIS and EIS eligibility and this is something we insist on.
